If you're not a Hasher, you may have a difficult time understanding the "Red Dress Run". One paradyme of the Hash is "we can make fun of anything"..... and why not Valentines Day? And, we can make running fun! Actually the Houston Hash is only about one of a two dozen cities around the US and the world that have Red Dress Runs. The Washington DC Hash has 800+ Red Dress Runners! It's real simple, everyone is required to wear Red Dresses. No real reason, we're not gay!, we just love tohave fun and get a reaction from the "civilians" in the neighborhoods we run. Believe it or not there's even a Red Dress Page with a Red Dress Email List. This year's run was held on the Sunday before Valentines. The Hares introduced a Red Dress Queen award for the Hasher with the best costume. There were about 60 Hashers, 50 red dresses, and 10 wankers. The day started with the Hash Hot Line going down, a hurried email and phone campaign was able to get the word out those pictured here.
