Pic of the Week Archives

The picture of the week. Or sometimes the month. Whenever we get around to it.

POW: Name the hashers

Who are these guys?oktoberfest

Right. So POW has been dead for a while. But what is a hasher if not lazy? Or, as one of the hashers in the photos below would say, “One must embrace the Slack.” Can you guess who’s pictured? The first one’s easy. The second, not so much.

POW: Secret PC Ritual Revealed!

pcitualDH writes: Using a nefarious pretense, I was able to infiltrate the notoriously reclusive PC Hash run last (week). At great risk to my personal safety I managed to snap a photo of one of the strange pre-hash rituals that these men go through before they start their run. However, I felt obligated to protect their identities by slightly altering the photo. Nevertheless, this major breach of security and trust will probably result in my permanent banishment from the PC Hash.

POW: Roller’s Annual St. Patty’s Day Pub Crawl

StPats

Trail started at KC’s, where GladHeAteHer and 2Holes had their on on on following their hash a few weeks ago. From there we went just a block south to The Spot, an odd little place where I was molested by a tiny old man in a suit. On-on for more…

POW: Casualities of the Ho

Krusty Kreme tripped on a root while running the Ho before Happy Hour last week and this is the result:

krustysbruise

Pull the Plug reported a similar injury a few years ago, saying:

I fell on the Ho Chi Minh Trail on a Thursday run after a big rain. I was running with Jane Does and I slipped going down hill and I fell on a tree root. I was able to continue the run, but by the next day, the bruise was really showing up. It bleed so much internally, that … a few days later, the bottom of my foot turned black. I never quit running, because it didn’t hurt that much, but it sure did look bad.

January Cychohash

Grind Slut hared the January Cychohash in the area near the Houston Ship Channel. The day featured an interesting, compact trail; delicious beer selection; scenic on-home; and perfect weather. Click the picture above to see all of D**khead’s photos from the ride.

Our very own Roller Balls found religion and followed in the footsteps of St. Arnold. He has been immortalized in wood and you can pray to this statue at Cafe Adobe (I-10 and Silber).

The shameless plugging of Wad to Blow and Who The Fuck Are You seemed to work. Numerous hounds showed up for what was an hour and a half drive for some people (Santa Claus). The excitement that these two were now officially back to hashing after having sweet little Larkin made everyone happy. Plus the promise of a NEW, GREAT LOCAL BREW made us all come running too!

Start was at Hwy. 1488 just off I-45 at 2:45. WTFAY wasted no time in getting us on trail, as you will learn later, and gave a brief chalk talk. Off we went behind the Dosey Doe Café into a field. Some of us shortcutted and headed towards the water tower and caught up to the pack at a check that took a while to figure out. Behind some apartments (outside the fence this time…so no crazy rent-a-cops on bikes came after us) we ran and onto a trail that led behind numerous houses. We finally headed off the trail a ways down and great googly moogly, the shiggy had arrived! On-on for more…
