Hash songs

A good hash consists of two separate but equally important elements: the trail, and the circle. The circle is part celebration, part accusation, and many hashes are known for their hash song repertoires.

Hash songs come from a variety of sources. Some are drinking songs, some are rugby songs. Some are simply chants (“Head? Who said head?!”) Some are parodies of popular hits or classical tunes (“Où est le papier” is sung to the tune of the French national anthem). Lots of songs have dozens of verses that members of the hash can take turns singing. Some songs are clever and funny, and some are simply offensive. Remember, in the hash, there are no sacred cows!
