Well, the 2009 New Orleans red dress run is now history.. Over 5000 people registered.. That’s about 2000 more than last year!! Of this crowd, maybe 150 to 200 were hashers. It made the Sunday evening news in Houston. I’m sure it’s all over YouTube.

The New Orleans hash did a hell of a job. Three beer stops, a jello shot stop, a meal at the end (no food queues!) plus a local band (Bag of Donuts) that played for 3 hours in the plaza adjacent to Ernst’s cafe. Seven thousand jello shots were manufactured for this event and it was all done in the space of 5 to 6 hours. The second floor of Ernst’s cafe was reserved for hashers with unlimited free beer before the run and even pizza.

Friday night, there was a prelube run/pub crawl just for hashers. It also went through the french quarter again with food, jello shots, beer, etc.

All I can say is that it was one hell of an event. Houston hashers included Stinky, Rain Bitch, Bare Ass Burns, Spot on the Mat, 8 inch crack, Pipes, and myself.That’s who I remember. Ed. note: Also there was Brady’s Bitch, Semper Bi, Steps in Shit and Free Pussy.

Mark this one down for next year! I bet they draw six to seven thousand in 2010.
