Hare: Heartache
Here’s Hooter. After we were all at the PC beer check where the creek and the railway trestle cross old Galveston Road, the pack found trail across the street going into the bushes alongside the creek going east. However, as Hooter told Pull The Plug, “I think I’ll try to parallel along Allendale Road.” So Hooter ran east on Allendale but had to go quite a distance before being able to turn left (north) and then back left (west) to run along Howard Dr (going west) to find flour crossing Howard Dr to the right (north) to a check behind a church. Found this on the Harris County Flood Control website:
The Hill at Sims Greenway is a large stormwater detention basin, located adjacent to Sims Bayou near Scott Street and West Orem Drive. It is capable of holding almost 325 million gallons of excess stormwater, greatly reducing the risk of flooding for area residents. It is a model stormwater detention basin and primary example of how flood control projects can be more than functional. Unlike other District detention basins, this basin features a hill that is almost 60 feet tall. The hill feature alone required almost 1.6 million cubic yards of soil, utilized from on-site excavation and disposal total detention excavation was more than 2.1 million cubic yards of soil. When standing on top of the hill, the site appears almost canyon-like, offering spectacular views of the Downtown Houston skyline. The District hopes to partner with another entity, such as Harris County or the City of Houston, to adopt the site and create park amenities and multi-use features for area residents. Nearly 10,000 trees have been planted at the site.
From CIA:
Well, the 2009 New Orleans red dress run is now history.. Over 5000 people registered.. That’s about 2000 more than last year!! Of this crowd, maybe 150 to 200 were hashers. It made the Sunday evening news in Houston. I’m sure it’s all over YouTube. Continue reading

Last night’s FM had a great showing! At the circle, Grind’s count of 30 hounds grew to 40 in a matter of seconds. Snatch challenged his counting abilities. The hares?were still given grief for not supplying enough beer.
Sparse flour at many points left the pack searching for minutes upon minutes. Gaslyte and Out of Tuna found their way to the end about 50 minutes before the main pack came in. Others went back to the cars. Main pack came in at about 9PM. Snatch went looking for stragglers and came back with a few. H’ache made an appearance; he shared of recent camping experiences while in Leadville. Tai Tai never made it to the end; he had run Rice and jumped in w the FRBs at the Valhalla beer check.
