H4 Run #1630: Reboot Reunion Run

Hares: Letch and Old Faithful

In celebration of their birthdays, anesthetist Letch and Old Faithful held their annual Reboot Reunion Run, with help from Will He Peter.  Hashers came out of the woodwork, 85 total… a significant showing for a summer run in the Houston heat.

Start time was at 5pm for this pre-laid trail, and Old Faithful was running late.  She did more before 9am than most people do all day.  We met behind the Center for Hearing and Speech at Shepherd and Allen Parkway where there was prelube beer, shade, water guns for mischievous hashers, and oh so refreshing misting fans.

The pack was off at around 5:45pm, confusing and irritating motorists, we meandered through the neighborhoods, shopping centers, and a parking garage around Allen Parkway for about three and a half miles on a semi-shaded trail.  We ended on the other side of a cemetery down a steep hill by Buffalo Bayou where we were welcomed with icy cold hand towels, bountiful snacks and frosty beer.

The circle was huge… crazy with reboots, visitors and a couple of new boots.  Hashers graciously stood in to represent those we have recently lost, Michael Jackson, Farrah Faucet, Ed McMahon, and Billy Mays, for an honorary down down.  Horsefli Driveby won the award for making the most reboots cum, although his “reboots” were new boots.  Spambo won the award for cumming the longest distance to the hash, home from Afghanistan.

At the end of the circle, the announcement was made that the on-on-on was at Café Adobe, but first, we had to sample Letch’s brisket, Old Faithful’s famous potato salad and beans.  The St. Arnolds keg was empty, but the food kept folks around for more, in addition to the game of frisbee and an impromptu hash song circle.

After four nights in a row of indulging in hash festivities, my better half and I took it to the house.  A little birdie told me that since Café Adobe was closing by 10pm, the on-on-on moved to Alabama Ice House, where they closed it down and continued the party in the parking lot until the wee hours of the morning.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Thank you Letch and Old Faithful for the fabulous urban trail, the later start, superb grub and beverages, and all of the hard work you put in to make it happen!  The Reboot Reunion was a big success!

On-on to the Tourettes Hash!
Really? F*ck!
